Notorious Goon Brutally Murdered in Daylight Attack in Ajni Area

A notorious goon was murdered in broad daylight in the Ajni area. The attack, carried out by three criminals armed with sharp knives and a 'Trishul', took place at Naik Nagar turning near the Manewada petrol pump on Wednesday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the community. This brazen killing marks the tenth such murder within twelve days, sparking concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the Second Capital.

The impunity with which these criminals operate on the city streets, coupled with escalating inter-gang rivalries, presents a significant challenge for law enforcement agencies. The victim, Suraj alias Bihari Amir Mahato, 26 years old and a resident of Balaji Nagar, had previously been exiled from the city and district for two years in July-August. On the fateful day, Suraj was reportedly issuing threats to one of the accused, Ramkumar Gupta, over the phone in the presence of his friend, Ankit Kailash Wankhede.

Shortly thereafter, Suraj requested Ankit to accompany him on his motorcycle. As they reached Naik Nagar, they encountered Bipinkumar and his associates near Naman Footwear Stores. Suraj confronted Bipinkumar, questioning him about alleged abuses. In a swift and brutal assault, Bipinkumar's accomplices surrounded Suraj, attacking him with knives and a 'Trishul', inflicting fatal wounds to his neck and abdomen.

Despite attempting to flee, Suraj sought refuge in a nearby house before succumbing to his injuries. An alert autorickshaw driver informed ASI (Traffic) Kamalkant Rokde, stationed at Manewada Chowk, who promptly responded to the scene. With the help of Constable Sandhya Dhoke, they apprehended Bipinkumar as he attempted to flee.

The authorities were notified, and law enforcement officials swiftly arrived at the scene. Bipinkumar was taken into custody, and Suraj's body was transported to the Government Medical College & Hospital for post-mortem examination. Sources suggest that the motive behind the gruesome murder stemmed from a romantic rivalry, as Bipinkumar, a vegetable vendor, was allegedly pursuing a girl whom Suraj considered his sister. Suraj's friend, Ankit Wankhede, filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC against the perpetrators. A manhunt has been initiated to apprehend Bipinkumar's accomplices.
