Nylon Manja Worth 60,000 Seized, Five Detained in Ongoing Probe

In response to incidents related to kite-flying during Makar Sankranti, the Maharashtra Police has charged a ban on the use of nylon manja. Despite this directive, certain individuals have been found flouting the prohibition. On Thursday, December 12, the Manakapur Police in the state capital confiscated nylon manja valued at Rs. 60,000.
The apprehended suspects are Kartik Ragote, Ayan Wald Farukh Khan, Ehfaz Wald Harun Khan, Ehtesham Ismail Sheikh, and Imran Wald Iqbal Sheikh. Nylon manja is crafted from metallic/nylon yarn, coated with crushed glass gum that makes it razor sharp and non-biodegradable, causing severe harm to birds, animals, and humans when entangled.
According to information received, the Manakapur Police received a tip during patrolling about suspicious individuals in a car transporting nylon manja from Manakapur Chowk. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the police seized 120 spools of nylon manja, totalling Rs. 60,000. Ayan Wald Farukh Khan revealed during the investigation that the material was acquired from Satranjipura. The Manakapur Police is actively pursuing further inquiries to uncover additional details regarding the incident.
