One Killed, Two Injured in Major Road Accident on Samruddhi Expressway

Nagpur, India: A serious accident took place near Gandhi Khapri village on the Samruddhi Expressway in Hingna, Nagpur, on Thursday, 27 February, at around 5:45 AM. The crash involved three trucks and led to the death of one person, while two others were injured. Hingna police have filed a case against the three truck drivers for reckless driving and negligence.
According to the police, an unidentified truck driver had parked his vehicle dangerously on the expressway. Following this, Rajan Horialal Singh (42) from Kanhan, Nagpur, parked his truck (MH 40 CD 5658) behind it. Soon after, another truck (MH 15 HH 5391), coming at high speed from Mumbai, crashed into Singh’s stationary truck. This truck was driven by Ramchandrapal Ramanuj Arjunpal (36) from Madhya Pradesh. Due to the strong impact, Singh’s truck hit the unidentified truck parked ahead.
Rajan Singh suffered injuries, while Ramchandrapal Arjunpal was badly hurt as his truck’s cabin was crushed. His cleaner, Satishkumar Vijay Singh (35) from Uttar Pradesh, was trapped in the wreckage and died on the spot. The unidentified truck driver fled the scene with his vehicle.
Hingna police have registered a case under various sections of the BNS and the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is ongoing.
