Parshivni Lacks Proper Healthcare, MLA Raises Concern in Council

Nagpur, India: MLA Dr. Parinay Phuke has raised concerns in the Legislative Council about the poor healthcare facilities in Parshivni taluka. He has demanded that the government upgrade the existing rural hospital into a sub-district hospital so that local people can get better medical care without having to travel far.
Parshivni currently has only one rural hospital, which lacks important medical services like CT scans, X-rays, and surgeries. As a result, patients—especially accident victims and pregnant women—are forced to travel 30-40 km to Nagpur for treatment. The area also lacks specialist doctors, including gynaecologists and surgeons, making healthcare even more difficult for villagers.
Many major highways pass through Parshivni, leading to frequent road accidents. However, the taluka does not have enough ambulances or emergency services, putting lives at risk. Pregnant women also suffer due to the lack of proper delivery rooms and newborn care facilities, which increases health risks for both mothers and babies.
Dr. Phuke has urged the government to take immediate action and set up a sub-district hospital. He warned that if no steps are taken, local people and social organisations may start a mass protest. With more than 112 villages in Parshivni, residents are struggling even for basic medical care. The public now waits for the government’s decision on this important issue.
