Passenger Held at Nagpur Airport with Live Cartridges, Booked Under Arms Act

Nagpur, India: A passenger travelling from Nagpur to Mumbai was caught with two live cartridges in his luggage during a security check at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. The incident took place early in the morning on 6 May.

The passenger, identified as Irfan Khan Sardar Khan (40), a resident of Motha Tajbagh, was stopped by CISF officials during screening for Indigo flight 6E 5002. Officers found one cartridge hidden in a shaving kit and another inside a pair of trousers.

When asked, Khan failed to provide a valid licence for carrying the ammunition. CISF personnel immediately informed the Sonegaon Police, who later booked him under the Arms Act (Section 5/25).

Authorities confirmed that he was taken into custody, and a detailed investigation is currently underway to determine the source of the cartridges and the intent behind carrying them.
