Police Seize Drugs Worth 1 Lakh, Two Individuals Arrested
Two individuals were apprehended with drugs valued at 1.2 lakh by Zone V's specialized team, led by Deputy Commissioner Niketan Kadam, on Wednesday evening. Identified as Saddam Hussain Abdul Mannan Qureshi (26) from Kapil Nagar and Akash Dahat (23) from Kamptee, the accused were found in possession of MD powder, acting on intelligence received by officials.
The police conducted a raid following the tip-off, conducting physical searches that resulted in the discovery of approximately 3.5 grams of the illicit substance. Charges under sections 8 (c), 22 (b), and 29 of the NDPS Act were levied against the accused.
Qureshi and Dahat were remanded to the custody of Kapil Nagar police, with authorities seizing MD powder, a two-wheeler, and two mobile phones as evidence.
