Nagpur, India: Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has decided to open a new School of Law as part of its efforts to follow the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
This new school will combine the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law and the university’s Postgraduate Department of Law. All law courses, both undergraduate and postgraduate, will now come under this one new School of Law.
The university plans to create more such schools in the future. Around 40 to 50 departments are expected to be grouped into similar “schools” for better organisation and interdisciplinary learning.
The official announcement was made by Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Madhavi Khode Chaware and Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Raju Hiwase.
RTMNU believes this move will improve the quality of legal education and help students learn more effectively in line with NEP 2020 goals. Many from the legal and academic fields have welcomed this change.
