Saoner Police Crack Down on Sex Racket at Mahi Lodge, 10 Arrested

The Saoner Police have uncovered a sex racket operating at Mahi Lodge, resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals, including two sex workers and six customers.

The police initiated an undercover operation, where an officer posed as a customer and visited Mahi Lodge on a Thursday evening. After negotiating with the lodge owner, Sushil Gajbhiye, and the manager, Vinod Khurpude, the officer paid 1000 rupees and was provided with access to two sex workers. However, as soon as the officer entered the room, the police conducted a surprise raid.

During the operation, the police detained not only the two sex workers but also lodge owner Sushil Narayan Gajbhiye, manager Vinod Janardhan Khurpade, as well as Mahesh Nimbalkar, Akshay Meshram, Rakesh Choudhari, Dhiraj Patil, Manish Waghmare, and Anoop Dhote. This action caused a stir in the area, leading many vendors and customers to flee.

The incident highlighted the widespread issue of prostitution in the region, as numerous lodges and hotels operate with minimal restrictions, allowing illegal activities to persist. Recent reports suggest that some lodge and hotel owners and managers have colluded with young women and girls engaged in prostitution.
