'Saree - Ek Dharohar' Fashion Show is presented in New Delhi by Nagpur's SCZCC
At Central Vista, India Gate, New Delhi, a fashion show titled "Saree - Ek Dharohar" was conducted as a part of the current Amrit Mahotsav celebrations of Independence. The event was organised by Nagpur's South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) to advance and safeguard India's saree tradition.
Students from the Nikalas Women's College in Nagpur displayed a variety of sarees, including the Virasat-Nagpuri and the Najakat-Karvatkathi sarees. Four rounds of showcasing and four dance performances were also included in the programme. A thorough introduction was given by Dr. Rajashree Bapat to begin the programme.
The Najakat-Karvatkathi saree, which represents the celebrations and prosperity of Maharashtra's Vidarbha area, was praised for its beauty in the first round. It also included the well-known Kosa sarees made of silk, which are well-liked in both domestic and foreign markets. The event successfully displayed the creativity and legacy of sarees, stressing the craftsmanship involved, with a significant turnout of art fans.
