Nagpur, India: A senior Shiv Sena office-bearer, Mangesh Kashikar, has been booked by the Nagpur Police on serious charges including molestation, cheating, and criminal intimidation, following a complaint filed by a local woman entrepreneur.
According to the complaint, the accused allegedly convinced the woman to invest ₹1.5 crore in the renovation of a hotel by falsely claiming ownership of the property. Later, he reportedly harassed her sexually and threatened her with a firearm when she began to question his intentions.
An FIR has been registered against Kashikar under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police say the accused is currently absconding, and a search is underway to trace his whereabouts.
This incident has raised concerns about the abuse of political power and the safety of women in business. So far, the Shiv Sena has not issued any official statement on the matter.
Police officials have assured that strict action will be taken and that the case is being handled with seriousness.
