Starting from August 1st, MSEDCL has implemented new payment guidelines

Starting August 1st, MSEDCL has implemented new payment regulations. According to the revised policy, the power distribution company will not accept electricity bills over Rs 5,000 in cash, except for LT (low tension) agriculture category customers.

If your bill exceeds Rs 5,000, you must pay it online. This is a new requirement from Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), following the directive of the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC).

Customers with bills less than Rs 5,000 may pay in cash, and LT agriculture category customers may pay bills less than Rs 10,000 in cash. MSEDCL has instructed bill collection centres not to accept cash payments from customers falling under these categories to comply with new guidelines. Other bill collection agencies have also been informed to follow these updated regulations.

The distribution company is offering a discount of 0.25% on the bill amount, with a cap of Rs 500, to encourage customers to use the new online payment system. MSEDCL wants to assure consumers that paying their electricity bills online is a safe and convenient option. Customers can easily settle their bills by visiting the company's website or using other authorized payment platforms.
