Structural Engineer Loses ₹21 Lakh After Land Sold to Another Buyer

Nagpur, India: A structural engineer, Kishor Wanjari (46), from Narendra Heights, Narendra Nagar, was cheated of ₹21 lakh after he paid for a land deal that did not go through. Wanjari, who is also in the construction business, was approached by brokers offering a land parcel in Mouza Shankarpur. He agreed to buy the land in Khasra numbers 34, 35, and 36 for ₹1.11 crore and paid ₹11 lakh as an advance.
Later, when Wanjari checked the land documents, he found that the land under Khasra no. 36/1 K was already sold. The deal took place between April 11, 2022, and June 13, 2022. When Wanjari asked the brokers to return his money, they refused and challenged him to take any action.
After an investigation, Beltarodi Police registered a case against 11 accused, including Sindhu Nandkishor Kalbande (55) and Radha Mahadeo Choudhari (65) from Hazari Pahad, and others from Jawahar Nagar, Ayodhya Nagar, and MIDC Kalmeshwar. They have been charged under Sections 406, 420, 465, 466, 471, 488, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and forgery.
