Teen Raped by Landlord's Son, Currently Being Arrested and POCSO has been Charged

In the Sakkardara area, a 20-year-old young man named Pratik Asole, who is the son of the house's landlord where a 13-year-old girl and her family reside, is accused of allegedly raping the young girl. The incident was brought to light thanks to the vigilance of the school's headmaster, where the minor is enrolled.

The Sakkardara police have taken action and filed a rape case against Pratik under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Subsequently, Pratik has been arrested.

According to law enforcement, Pratik is a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), while the survivor is in the seventh grade. The girl's mother had previously been married to an individual who was employed in the State Reserve Police (SRP) but lost his job due to alcohol addiction. After their divorce, the mother remarried, and she has been living with her second husband for a year. Both of them are employed in the hotel industry.

On a specific day, October 13, the girl didn't attend school due to illness, and her parents left for work in the morning as usual. Around noon, Pratik went to the girl's residence, where he allegedly engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with her, accompanied by threats of severe consequences.

The girl managed to contact her stepfather and reported the incident to him. He promptly returned home with his wife, and the girl shared her harrowing experience with both of them. Given the circumstances and Pratik's connection as the landlord's son, the couple decided not to disclose the incident to anyone.

The girl, deeply disturbed by the incident, later confided in her school's headmaster after returning to school on Monday. The headmaster took immediate action and informed the girl's father, who, in turn, urged the girl's mother to report the incident to the police. Subsequently, the girl and her mother approached the Sakkardara police station, where they registered a complaint. The police filed a case under the charges of rape and POCSO and apprehended Pratik.
