Traffic Jam on Maharajbagh Road After E-Rickshaw and Car Crash
Nagpur, India: A crash between an e-rickshaw and a car on Maharajbagh Road caused heavy traffic on Friday evening. The accident happened around 5 pm on the already narrow road, which is under construction. The traffic was blocked for nearly an hour.
Because of ongoing roadwork, vehicles have to share a single lane on Maharajbagh Road. The accident happened when an e-rickshaw and a car, both moving in the same direction, collided. The car, driven by a woman, appeared to have been in multiple accidents before.
Traffic remained stuck until the damaged vehicles were removed.
Maharajbagh Road has been facing problems for a long time. The repair of a small drain bridge took too long, and potholes near the historic Maharajbagh have not been fixed for years. The delay in completing the 100-150 metre roadwork is unclear, but Friday’s accident shows the need for better road safety and faster repairs.
