Two Arrested for ATM Theft in Ajni

Ajni Police have apprehended two individuals, including a young woman, for stealing cash from an automated teller machine (ATM) belonging to Maharashtra Gramin Bank after causing damage to the machine.
The accused have been identified as Priyanka Satvir Singh (21) and Adil Raju Khan (20), both natives of Uttar Pradesh. Priyanka hails from Muradipur, district Kanpur, while Adil is from Datauli, district Fatehpur.
The duo entered the ATM kiosk of Maharashtra Gramin Bank at Plot No. 17, Thombre Bhavan, where they used an iron plate to damage the ATM and unlawfully took away Rs 2,000 from it. The theft was discovered by Swapnil Marotrao Gabhne, ATM Channel Manager of the bank, upon reviewing the CCTV camera footage.
Acting on Gabhne's complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 380, 427, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Following the identification of the accused, they were apprehended by the police and produced before the court, where a four-day remand was obtained for further interrogation.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Priyanka and Adil were part of a larger gang led by Pune-based Dhirendra Parmeshwar Patel, a native of Mahadapur. The gang has been involved in several similar crimes in areas such as Ganeshpeth and Lakadganj, employing a similar modus operandi.
