Two Arrested for Selling MD Drugs in Jaripatka Under ‘Operation Thunder'

Nagpur: In a fresh crackdown under the ongoing 'Operation Thunder' initiative, Jaripatka police have arrested two individuals for allegedly selling the banned synthetic drug MD (Mephedrone) in the Chawla Chowk area of the city.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a swift raid at Chawla Chowk and apprehended the suspects, identified as Nitesh Vikhani and Akash Kevarramani. During the search, officials recovered 5 grams of MD drugs along with two mobile phones from the duo.

According to PI Arun Kshirsagar of Jaripatka Police Station, the accused had been supplying MD drugs to a network of known customers in the locality for an extended period. The operation was launched based on confidential information received by the police regarding their illegal activities.

“The arrest is a part of our continued efforts under 'Operation Thunder' to dismantle the city’s drug network. We are now investigating the source from which the accused procured the MD drugs,” said PI Kshirsagar.

The bust marks another significant step in Nagpur police’s ongoing efforts to curb the illegal drug trade and ensure public safety in the region.
