He highlighted the significance of infrastructure like roads, water, communication, and electricity in fostering development and attracting investments.
As part of Nagpur's ongoing development initiatives, the extension of the metro to Hingna, Butibori, Kanhan, and Bhandara Road was announced. Gadkari stressed the need for Hingna to evolve into a 'Smart City' in tandem with industrial progress. He suggested that with the establishment of quality educational institutions, parks, grounds, and healthcare facilities, Hingna could be recognized as a smart city in Maharashtra.
Fadnavis hailed the new ring road as the lifeline of Nagpur, predicting a significant boost to the district's economy. The economic impact is estimated to be around Rs 1 lakh crore. He acknowledged the transformative work led by Nitin Gadkari in Vidarbha and revealed plans to enhance connectivity further through the Samruddhi Highway, reaching Bhandara, Gondia, and Gadchiroli.
The Outer Ring Road spans 84 km, passing through key areas like Jamtha, Amravati Road, Koradi Road, Kamptee Road, and concluding at Bhandara. The first package, covering the 33.50 km stretch from Jamtha to Fetri, was inaugurated with a project cost of 856.74 crores. The completion of Package-2 from Fetri to Bhandara is anticipated by March-end, creating a feeder route for the Samruddhi Highway.
