Violence Strikes Nagpur District: One Shot Dead in Khapa, Watchman Murdered in Kuhi

Nagpur, India: Two separate violent incidents rocked Nagpur district on Sunday, leaving one man dead after a shooting in Khapa and another killed at a construction site in Kuhi.
In the first incident, 30-year-old Arjun Niley allegedly opened fire on rival Chetan Gaghate in the busy Bazar Chowk area of Khapa. Gaghate was hit by five bullets and died on the spot. Police sources say the murder may have been an act of revenge, as tensions had been simmering between the two over a past dispute. Both individuals were said to have prior criminal records.
Later that evening, in Kuhi near Umrer Road, a horrific discovery was made at a construction site. The body of a 55-year-old watchman, Sumatlal Maraskolhe, was found tied to a pillar with a severe head injury. Investigators believe he was brutally murdered. Three suspects — a woman named Verma, her son Ashish, and a relative, Sahil — have been identified and are currently missing. Police have launched a manhunt and are investigating possible motives.
Both cases have left local residents shocked and have raised serious concerns about public safety. Law enforcement officials have assured that strict action will be taken, and investigations in both incidents are ongoing.
