Woman's bag with items worth lakhs stolen from marriage hall
A woman's bag, containing items valued at lakhs, was stolen from a marriage hall during a ceremony on Friday afternoon. The unidentified thief made away with cash and jewellery worth ₹7.90 lakh. The incident occurred at Lamba Celebration Hall during the marriage ceremony of Meena Rangari's (55) son. Meena had placed her bag, which held ₹1 lakh in cash, along with jewellery and a mobile device counting ₹27.90 lakh, on a chair while she attended to the guests.
Engrossed in the wedding festivities, Meena remained unaware of the unfolding events. Seizing the opportunity, the unidentified thief discreetly absconded with the bag. The theft came to light later, prompting Meena to report the incident to the Yashodhara Nagar police station, where a case of theft has been filed.
To apprehend the culprit, the police are currently examining CCTV footage and wedding recordings to identify and trace the thief.
