6 Dead, More than 20 Injured in Tragic Collision of Nagpur-Nashik Bus in Buldhana
In a devastating road accident six people, including two women, lost their lives, and at least 25 others were left injured when two luxury travel buses collided on NH6 in Buldhana. The incident occurred around 2:30 am, on a flyover in Malkapur town.
The two ill-fated buses involved in the collision were carrying passengers on entirely different journeys. One of the buses was on an Amarnath pilgrimage route destined for Hingoli, while the other was en route to Nashik. Eyewitnesses reported that the Nashik-bound bus was attempting to overtake a truck when the collision occurred. The force of the impact caused severe damage to both vehicles, leaving the passengers trapped inside.
Commuters faced delays and diversions as the investigation into the cause of the collision continued. The number of such incidents are seen to be on rise nowadays.
Following the tragic accident involving two luxury travel buses in Maharashtra, Prime Minister Narendra Modi promptly announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased as a gesture of support and condolence. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also took decisive action by declaring an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to be provided to the next of kin, offering additional financial assistance to those who lost their loved ones in the heartbreaking incident.
