Amit Shah Receives Grand Welcome in Nagpur on First Visit After Operation Sindoor

Nagpur, India: Union Home Minister Amit Shah was given a rousing welcome upon his arrival in Nagpur on Sunday evening. This marks his first visit to the city following the success of Operation Sindoor, and local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders ensured a grand reception.

A huge crowd of BJP workers and supporters gathered at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport and Dr Hedgewar Square to greet the senior leader. They raised slogans like “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “BJP Zindabad”, showered flowers, and welcomed Shah with traditional honours.

Shah was received by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and newly appointed BJP Nagpur city president Dayashankar Tiwari. Also present were MLAs Pravin Datke and Krishna Khopde, MLC Sandip Joshi, and General Secretary Sandip Gavai. Senior administrative officials, including Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik and Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Kumar Singhal, were also in attendance.

The visit is politically significant as the BJP gears up for upcoming local body elections in Maharashtra. Shah is expected to hold strategy meetings with key party leaders during his stay.

On Monday, Shah will attend two important events. He will first perform the bhoomipujan of ‘Swasti Niwas’ at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Jamtha at 11:15 am. Later, at 1:15 pm, he will lay the foundation stone for a new sub-centre of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Chicholi, Kamptee taluka. He is scheduled to leave for Nanded at 2:10 pm after completing these engagements.

His visit is being seen as a move to energise the party’s base in the Vidarbha region and reinforce the BJP’s organisational strength ahead of future electoral battles.
