Curfew in Nagpur Disrupts 75 Aapli Buses, 11 Routes Suspended

Nagpur, India: The curfew imposed in several areas of Central and South Nagpur, including Mahal, disrupted operations of 75 Aapli Buses run by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Services on 11 routes were temporarily suspended, while buses on another 11 routes were diverted. Although essential services continued during the curfew, Nagpur Police, as a precaution, instructed the NMC to halt bus operations in affected regions. As a result, all bus services in these areas were either suspended or diverted.

NMC’s transport department reported that buses usually operate daily from Central Avenue and Mahal to areas such as Pardi. However, due to the curfew, 39 bus trips were cancelled, mainly on routes from Sitabuldi to Shanti Nagar, Kamptee, Yashodhara Nagar, Nagasenwan, Pardi, Gandhibagh, and Shrikrishna Nagar. Some buses were rerouted through Reshimbagh and Ghat Road to manage passenger movement.

The suspension of bus services caused major inconvenience to daily commuters, especially those travelling from Pardi and nearby areas to Butibori and Hingna for work. Many passengers were left stranded due to the sudden disruption.

Officials have assured that bus services will only resume once the police give clearance, ensuring that the situation is fully under control.
