Ganja Smuggler from Odisha Caught in Nagpur After Bag Left on Train

Nagpur, India: A ganja smuggler from Odisha was arrested by the Nagpur Government Railway Police (GRP) after officers discovered an abandoned bag packed with cannabis aboard the Gondwana Express.

The discovery was made during a routine inspection at Nagpur Railway Station, when GRP officers noticed a suspicious unclaimed bag in one of the coaches. Upon opening it, they found a large quantity of ganja, sparking an immediate investigation.

Acting swiftly, police traced the suspect with the help of CCTV footage and passenger records. The accused, a resident of Odisha, was tracked down and taken into custody. He is now being interrogated for details about the source of the contraband and the intended destination.

Officials believe the smuggler was using long-distance trains to transport the illegal substance across state borders. GRP officials have stepped up vigilance on railway routes commonly used for drug trafficking.

The seizure adds to growing concerns about the misuse of train routes for narcotics smuggling. Further investigation is underway to identify any larger network involved in the operation.
