Gold and Cash Worth ₹2.47 Lakh Stolen from Locked House in Wathoda

Nagpur, India: A house in Wathoda was targeted by burglars, resulting in the theft of gold ornaments and cash worth ₹2.47 lakh. The incident took place when the house owner was away and the property was locked.
According to police reports, the unidentified thieves broke into the residence and fled with valuable items, including jewellery and cash. The theft came to light when the homeowner returned and found the house ransacked.
A case has been registered at the local police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police have initiated an investigation and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
This burglary follows a pattern of recent thefts in the Wathoda area. Just days ago, two locked houses in Ramakrishna Nagar were burgled, with losses amounting to over ₹1.3 lakh in cash and valuables.
Residents have expressed concern over the rise in such crimes and have urged authorities to increase night patrolling and surveillance in vulnerable areas. The police have appealed to citizens to remain alert and adopt safety measures, particularly when leaving their homes unattended.
