Nagpur Railway Station Redevelopment Includes Hi-Tech Underground Parking

Nagpur, India: A modern underground parking facility is taking shape beneath the Nagpur railway station as part of its major redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The project aims to ease congestion and offer better amenities to passengers.
The new parking is being developed in two phases below the West Wing-3 (WW-3) section of the station. The first phase, covering 1,800 square metres, was completed and handed over to Central Railway in September 2024. It is currently being used for surface-level parking.
The second phase, which spans 1,620 square metres, is now 90% complete. Excavation and foundation work have already been finished, and most of the concrete slab has been cast. Final shuttering work is underway.
Once completed, the basement parking will include essential mechanical, electrical, and fire safety systems, providing a safer and more organised facility for vehicles.
This development is part of the larger plan to modernise Nagpur railway station and make it more commuter-friendly. With improved infrastructure and services, authorities aim to reduce traffic jams around the station and provide a more seamless travel experience.
