Nagpur Swimmers excels in Swimming Competition
Anjali Gajbhiye and Nilima Dharkar, two seasoned swimmers and swimming club members, brought honour to the city by taking home medals at the 2023 Rankala Lake Open Water State Level Sea Swimming Competition, which was run by the Kolhapur Zilla Amateur Aquatic Association and sanctioned by the Maharashtra State Rankala Lake Kolhapur.
In the age category for Women 51-55 yrs, Nilima of Nagpur took first place in the 1.5 Km with a time of 56 min.08 sec, while Anjali finished fourth in the 3 Km. Both swimmers exercise in the evenings from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the NIT Swimming Pool under the capable supervision of Senior Coach Dr. Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS, Patiala) and ASCA Level - 5 Coach Vishal Chandurkar Sir.
Mohan Nahatkar, the president of Aqua Sports Club, Mangesh Gadre, the secretary of Aqua Sports Club, Prashant Ugemuge, vice president of operations for Aqua Sports Club Preeti Lanjekar, and Ashwin Janbandhu, manager of operations for Aqua Sports Club, congratulate Nilima and Anjali on their upcoming endeavour and wish them luck.
