Nagpur's own Shubham Dubey marked his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut with a stellar performance for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) against the Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Monday. In a thrilling match, Rajasthan Royals secured a convincing victory over the multiple-time champions Mumbai Indians by six wickets, chasing down a target of 126 runs in just 15.3 overs. Dubey played a crucial role in the win, remaining unbeaten on eight runs alongside Riyan Parag, who smashed his second successive half-century of the tournament with an unbeaten 54 runs.Initially named in the Impact substitute list, Dubey finally got his chance to shine on the field. He was brought in as an 'Impact Player' in the 19th over, replacing Yuzvendra Chahal. Dubey's inclusion proved fruitful as he contributed with both bat and fielding.Dubey, known for his powerful hitting, was picked by Rajasthan Royals for a staggering Rs 5.80 crore during the auction last year.
