Nagpur's AC Technician Dies After Fall from Third Floor in Ramdaspeth

Nagpur, India: A tragic accident occurred in Ramdaspeth on Monday afternoon when a 42-year-old air conditioning technician died after falling from the third floor of a building while carrying out repair work.

The technician, identified as Ramesh Kumar, was servicing an outdoor AC unit at a commercial building when the incident took place around 2:30 PM. According to eyewitnesses, he was not using any safety harness or protective equipment at the time of the fall.

Kumar fell nearly 30 feet and sustained severe injuries. He was immediately taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), but doctors declared him dead shortly after arrival.

Initial investigations by Sitabuldi Police indicate that the absence of basic safety measures was a major factor in the fatal accident. Police have registered a case and are probing whether the employer or building management failed to ensure worker safety.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the lack of safety protocols followed by many technicians and contractors in the city. Industry experts stress the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE), especially when working at height, to prevent such mishaps.

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has expressed its condolences to the deceased’s family and urged all service providers to strictly adhere to safety norms.

Further investigation is underway to determine responsibility and prevent such incidents in the future.
