VED raises a request to Nitin Gadkari regarding the installation of NIPER in the city soonest

VED has pleaded with Devendra Fadnavis, DCM, and Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, to hasten the establishment of a long-delayed NIPER in Nagpur. The ongoing efforts of VED to establish an NIPER (National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research) in Nagpur with Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon'ble Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India, have not yet been successful. Since the moment it was officially declared by Arun Jaitley in the Union Budget on February 28, 2015, this issue has been a problem for almost ten years.
The Central Team selected land at Kaldongri, close to Nagpur on Wardha Road for the institute because the center was expecting to release a sum of Rs 600 crores to establish the 100 acres institution in the city. On March 28, 2017, the State Government transferred 40 acres of property, but the Centre has made no more progress in the past three years. Since the IIM had already moved to their designated premises, we had even suggested that the NIPER sessions for 2022–2023 be begun in the VNIT (Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology) facilities where the IIM lessons had previously been held, even though the campus was not yet ready. But so far, nothing has occurred.
The main contribution of the Vidarbha Economic Development Council (VED) has been its persistent pursuit of this issue over the past few years. Even the late Mr. Anant Kumar, the then-honorable Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers, who had approved the NIPER in Nagpur, met with a VED delegation in New Delhi. Despite the fact that the necessary funds weren't available at the time, a 24 hectare plot of land in Nagpur's Kaldongri had been set aside for this use.
The initial plan for NIPER was for the opening of the first branch in Nagpur; however, Mohali in Punjab was chosen instead. Nagpur was left out as NIPERs were later constructed in Ahmedabad, Hajipur (Bihar), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Rae Bareli, and Guwahati.
The pharmaceutical business would benefit greatly from an NIPER in Nagpur. The local pharmaceutical businesses that are establishing themselves in this area and central India would greatly benefit from Lupin, which is currently operational.
It is past time for what has not happened in almost ten years to happen right now and as quickly as possible.
