32 Airports in India Temporarily Closed Until 15 May Amid Security Concerns — Full List Included

New Delh, Indiai: The Indian government has temporarily suspended operations at 32 airports across several states until 15 May, amid heightened tensions along the border with Pakistan. The move comes in the wake of India's recent counter-terror military operation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 civilian lives.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has confirmed that civilian flights at these airports have been suspended from 9 May and will remain shut until 5:29 AM on 15 May 2025. Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) were issued citing “operational and security reasons”.

International carriers have also begun rerouting to avoid Indian airspace near the northwestern region.

Authorities urge passengers to check flight status with airlines before travelling to airports. The government stated that the shutdown is a temporary, precautionary measure for public safety. Normal operations are expected to resume post-15 May, subject to further review.
