India Hit 9 Key Terror Sites in Pakistan with Airstrikes After Pahalgam Terror Attack

In a bold military response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, India launched a series of precision airstrikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation, codenamed "Operation Sindoor", targeted nine key terrorist sites associated with groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, which India holds responsible for the attack on 22 April that killed 26 civilians.

The airstrikes hit strategic terror hubs in regions such as Bahawalpur and Muridke, known for housing terrorist training camps and operational bases. These locations have long been under surveillance for their links to cross-border terrorism.

The Indian government reported that the strikes were successful in neutralising key targets, disrupting terrorist networks. However, Pakistan has disputed these claims, stating that the airstrikes hit civilian areas, including mosques, and accusing India of exaggerating the damage to terrorist infrastructure. Furthermore, Pakistan claimed the downing of five Indian aircraft, though this has not been independently verified.

The operation, which has further heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, was followed by artillery exchanges along the Line of Control (LoC). Both countries remain on high alert as the situation continues to evolve.

The international community, including the United Nations, the United States, and China, has called for restraint and diplomatic talks to prevent further escalation. Meanwhile, the Indian rupee has shown signs of volatility, reflecting investor concerns over the potential for a prolonged conflict.

As the military standoff continues, both nations are bracing for the next phase of developments. The situation remains fluid, and diplomatic efforts are underway to de-escalate tensions and prevent further loss of life.
