Nagpur Shocked by Two Murders Within an Hour in Separate City Locations
Nagpur, India; In a chilling turn of events, Nagpur witnessed two brutal murders within an hour on Sunday night, sending shockwaves across the city and raising serious concerns over public safety.
Murder Over Money in Lakdapul Area
The first incident occurred at Lakdapul Chowk around 8:30 PM. A 24-year-old man, Rahul Pandey, was allegedly stabbed to death by two brothers, Rohit and Vicky Chandekar, following a dispute over an unpaid loan of ₹8,000. Police officials reported that the altercation escalated quickly, leading to a violent attack. A third suspect, identified as Niraj, is currently on the run.
Jealousy Turns Deadly Near Agrasen Chowk
Barely an hour later, another murder took place near Agrasen Chowk on Central Avenue. A man known as Shailesh, also called "Anna," was allegedly killed by Anurag Borkar. Initial investigations suggest that the motive was personal jealousy, as Anurag suspected his wife of being involved with the victim. The accused reportedly used a stone to commit the murder.
Nagpur Police acted promptly, arresting Rohit, Vicky, and Anurag within a few hours. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts to locate the absconding accused Niraj are underway. CCTV footage and mobile records are being reviewed to piece together the full sequence of events.
The back-to-back killings have caused widespread alarm among residents. Both murders occurred in crowded areas, prompting questions about safety and law enforcement readiness. Police have increased patrolling in sensitive zones and urged citizens to report any suspicious activity.
